12/7 to 12/11

 Hello,

I hope you had a nice weekend! I had an eventful one and shared a few pictures of the wedding with students. I will sign things as Mrs. Tuma now so if you see that, it is still me!

Spelling Words this Week:

  • place
  • say
  • says
  • eight
  • each

Upcoming Events:

11/30-12/12: Canned Food Drive

12/11: No School

12/15: Pajama Day

12/15: Virtual Family Night 6-7

Math Things to talk about and notice at home: Notice shapes at home. Identify what they are? Talk about how many sides they have, how many angels they have. We have talked about quadrilaterals (shapes with 4 sides and 4 angles), rectangles, squares, triangles, hexagons and pentagons. Additionally, when it comes to measuring, something to note when talking to your child is where they line up their ruler when starting to measure. A misconception students have is starting to measure by lining up the end at the 1 cm/inch mark. Reading/Writing We continue our nonfiction work. Students are starting to use what they are reading and learning about, to write their own nonfiction books! We are also trying to study a few books about a topic to help us learn as much as we can!
