Math Things to talk about and notice at home: Notice shapes at home. Identify what they are? Talk about how many sides they have, how many angels they have. We have talked about quadrilaterals (shapes with 4 sides and 4 angles), rectangles, squares, triangles, hexagons and pentagons. Additionally, when it comes to measuring, something to note when talking to your child is where they line up their ruler when starting to measure. A misconception students have is starting to measure by lining up the end at the 1 cm/inch mark. Reading/Writing We continue our nonfiction work. Students are starting to use what they are reading and learning about, to write their own nonfiction books! We are also trying to study a few books about a topic to help us learn as much as we can!
